Obtaining $ETH on Optimism

Method 1: Using a Bridge

1. Choose a Bridge

There are several bridge services, such as Jumper, Stargate, or Relay. For this example, we will use Jumper.

2. Access the Bridge Website

Go to https://jumper.exchange ( or https://stargate.finance or https://relay.link/ )

3. Connect Your Wallet

• Click on “Connect Wallet”

• Choose your wallet (e.g., MetaMask) and log in.

4. Select Networks

• From: Select the source network (e.g., Ethereum Mainnet).

• To: Select “Optimism”.

5. Enter the Amount

Specify the amount of ETH you want to transfer.

6. Confirm the Transaction

• Review the transaction details.

• Click on “Transfer”.

• Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

7. Wait for Confirmation

The transaction may take a few minutes. You will receive a notification once completed.

8. Check Your Balance

• Log in to your wallet.

• Verify your ETH balance on the Optimism network.

Method 2: Buying ETH on a Centralized Exchange (CEX)

1. Choose a Centralized Exchange (CEX)

Use platforms like Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken.

2. Create an Account

• Sign up on your chosen platform.

• Verify your identity if necessary.

3. Buy ETH

• Deposit funds (e.g., via credit card or bank transfer).

• Purchase ETH.
